Museum of Rugby, Twickenham

Air Conditioning Installation.

The Museum of Rugby is within the East Stand and forms an integral part of the 'Twickenham experience' for visitors to the home of rugby. It is open to the public six days a week and on all matchdays.

Due to its popularity with school groups and rugby club visits the Museum environment tended to overheat and the original ventilation system was unable to cope. There were also concerns about the environmental control of the Museum and archive areas as there was no method of temperature or humidity control.

Enconsult designed full air conditioning systems to provide contolled heating or cooling within the exhibition areas, the curators offices and the archive library and stores.

The new installations were designed to complement the existing exhibition areas with minimal builderswork and in the main are unobtrusive or 'invisible' within the public areas.

Project value £200,000.

Completed March 2002
